Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to use kidnapping and arrest as a means of blackmail, pressure and restrictions on the remaining Kurdish indigenous people in the occupied Afrin region, with the aim of expelling them from their homes for the benefit of Islamic settlers loyal to them from various conflict areas in Syria.
In the context, the Afrinpost reporter at Jenderes district center said that the “Failaq Al-Sham” militia kidnapped four citizens of the village of Deir Ballut and took them to the militia headquarters in the village of Iska / Iskan, in Sherawa District.
The reporter explained that the kidnapees are: (Muhammad Ibrahim Jalal Bakir, 27 years old, Abdul Rahman Khalil Habash, 37 years old, Atil Muhammad Eido, 28 years old, and an Arab citizen Muhammad Hassan Ibrahim, 30 years old).
Adding that the security patrol chased a fifth young man named “Abdul Karim Al-Issa” an Arab citizen, but he escaped and his fate is still unknown.
The reporter pointed out that each of (Abdul Rahman and Muhammad Ibrahim) had been previously kidnapped several times by the “Failaq Al-Sham” militia, where they were released each time after paying a financial ransom, noting that the militia required an amount of one thousand US dollars to release each one of them.
The village of “Deir Ballut” consists of 120 houses (60% of them are Kurdish, and 40% are Arab residing in the village before the occupation of Afrin 2018).
The reporter revealed that the war crimes committed by the occupation and its armed forces led to the forced displacement of about 45% of the Kurdish population, while all Arab families returned to their homes within the village.
