The settlers in Afrin conducted demonstrations in front of the headquarters of the Turkish occupation in Afrin, demanding a reduction of bread price, as the price of 5 loaves of bread reached 500 SP.

Afrinpost learned from its sources, that settlers from Al-Ghouta started demonstrating in the last two days demanding a reduction in the price of bread.

One of the sources indicated that the demonstrations are taking place in front of “the headquarters of the former Legislative Council” which is taken by the governor of the Turkish occupation as his headquarters at the present time. As the demonstrators chanted several slogans, and they repeated “we want bread for free”.

The source added that between 40 and 50 people went out in demonstrations, while the Kurds did not dare to leave their homes, especially after the clashes that took place between the “Al-Hamzeh” militia and Al-Ghouta militants.

Another source from Afrin attributed the reason for the high cost of bread to the Avad organization which is affiliated to the Turkish occupation, to refrain supporting the bakeries in Afrin, while the organization supports the bakeries in Azaz, Al-Bab and Jarablus.
