Video broadcast by the media of the Turkish occupation showed that the Turkish occupation raises its flag on the top of the “Gur” mountain known as the highest peak in Afrin, also called the Big Mountain (1269 meters above sea level), in “Bulbula / Bulbul” district.

This comes after the militia of the “Sultan Murad Brigade”, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and whose militants are mostly Turkmen, put a picture of Erdogan and behind him the Turkish flag and the flag of the Muslim militias affiliated with the Brotherhood, instead of a previous image that was painted on a model was built on top of the mountain.

Silivri Mayor, Vulcan Yilmaz, published on Thursday, April 9, through his Twitter account, pictures showing the image of the Turkish flag at the southern foot of Mount Darmaq / Gur in the northern countryside of Afrin.

Yilmaz commented on the photos that a number of Turkish soldiers asked him to help providing the paint in order to paint the Turkish flag over the image of Ocalan, and the handover was carried out by a man in the Turkish state of Gaziantep, explaining that the process lasted 45 days, expressing his hope that the Turkish flag would remain in its place Forever, saying: “A flag that is raised once will never fall again.”

Before the occupation of Afrin, a picture of the PKK founder, Abdullah Ocalan, was painted over the same place, and was destroyed by the Turkish occupation planes, after targeting the Afrin region during the Turkish invasion in January 2018.
