Afrinpost – Special
The Afrinpost correspondent in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin in northern Syria said that the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to seize the properties of the indigenous people by armed force and coercion.
In the context, the reporter said that gunmen from the “Third Legion” militia began registering all the shops of the Ashrafieh neighborhood, demanding proof of ownership of the property by its occupants, to impose new royalties on its behalf.
The reporter explained that the shop owners are being asked about the daily gain they earn from their business, without specifying the amounts that will be imposed on the targeted stores.
The incident is only a continuation of the ongoing robberies and seizures since the occupation of Afrin, and Islamic militias in most villages have prevented many citizens from returning to their homes and properties after seizing them, on the pretext that they have become military headquarters for Islamic militias, or that settlers with families of the militants have settled there!
The last forced forced eviction of the Kurds from their homes was on April 2, when an armed militia from the “Sultan Muhammad al-Fatih Brigade” militia, whose majority came from the Turkmen component, seized two apartments belonging to a Kurdish citizen, after they expelled two Kurdish families. They were renting the two homes from their displaced owner, according to Afrinpost reporter.
At the time, the reporter stated that the gunman was called “Shadi”, who is one of the militias of the “Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh Brigade” militia. The gunman seized the two apartments in order to rent them for him. The apartments are located in the vicinity of Maisalon School in the Ashrafieh neighborhood of Afrin.
