Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation continue to destroy and exhume archaeological sites using heavy vehicles, according to a plan developed by Turkish intelligence aimed at striking the historical, cultural and civilizational identity of the occupied Kurdish Afrin region.
In the context, the Afrinpost correspondent said that the Failaq Al-Sham militia brought, yesterday, Saturday, heavy mechanisms to bulldoze and dig up an archaeological site located in the vicinity of the village of Kafr Mazeh, of the Shara/Sharan district. While the villagers confronted them and deterred them of destroying the site, which resulted in a fight between the two parties without knowing what was resulted.
The reporter added that the militia subsequently imposed a siege on the village by erecting a new roadblock on the road between the village of Maareskeh and Kafr Mazeh to prevent the residents from leaving or entering it, and there remains a tension between the people of the village and the militia until today.
It should be noted that Turkish intelligence brought in developed devices to uncover archaeological sites throughout the region, and then requests the Islamic militia to carry out excavation and bulldozing activities by heavy machinery with the aim of extracting burials on one side and denying and replacing the cultural identity of the occupied region on the other.
