Al-Shahbaa Provincial Council: The Syrian regime is seeking to change the demography of the towns of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel

Afrinpost

Today, Saturday, Al-Shahba Provincial Council issued a statement to the public opinion about the transformation of the Syrian regime of the Kurdish villages in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo into quarantine centers for those suspected of having the Coronavirus, which may expose the villagers to these risks, considering it an attempt to change their demography.

The statement said: “The Syrian crisis has reached its tenth year, and the Syrian regime is still adhering to the exclusionary mentality towards any political solution that represents the will of the components of the Syrian people, which represents the Kurdish people as an essential part of Syrian society, and the policy of denial and exclusion against the peoples of the region and manipulating their fate, as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries do in the north of Syria. ”

Following: “In the towns of Tal Aran and Tal Hasil, which are inhabited by Kurdish majority, and under the pretext of preventing the spread of the“ Corona virus ”, the Syrian regime established a quarantine center inside a school in the town of Tal Aran, to collect the Roma from various areas under its control, that this measure paves the way for implementation on the one hand, the demographic change in that region, and the spread of the “Corona – Covid 19” epidemic virus among citizens on the other hand, as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries do in the areas of Afrin, Ras Al-Ain and Al-Shahba recently.

The statement continued by saying, “We in the Al-Shahbaa Provincial Council condemn in the strongest terms these measures, including converting Kurdish villages under the control of the Syrian regime, to the health centers of Hajar, and bringing the Roma from the center of the Syrian Badia and housing them in the cities of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel, located east of the city of Aleppo.”

The statement called on “civil society organizations and the United Nations to put pressure on the Syrian regime to transfer the Hajar Health Center in Tel Aran to places away from populated areas.”
