Turkish occupation experts destroy “Tel Andib” in search for antiquities

The Turkish occupation forces and Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood continue to plunder the natural resources of the occupied Kurdish Afrin region in northern Syria, from the archaeological sites in the hills and valleys of the region and the agricultural and forestry wealth in it, and then transferred to Turkey.

In this context, the Turkish occupation continues to steal and destroy archaeological sites in the Afrin region, where more than twenty archaeological sites have been documented which have been vandalized by the Turkish occupier and the militants of Islamic militias, which are hills, churches and castles such as (Maidkani Hill – Tel Shieh – Tel Qibareh – Tel Marsawa – Tel Katameh – Deir Ballut – Tel Dermeya – Tel Jendiris – Tel Basarqaa – Tel Aranda – Tel Trinda / Al-Zarifa – Haloubiya Hill – Tel Zarafka – Tel Ain Dara or Ain Dara Temple – Tel Derswan – Tel Ester – Tel Jalameh – Tel Barbaush – Tel Shourba- Also, the ruins of the village of Albiskeh were stolen and destroyed, including mosaic paintings.

The destruction of the Nabi Huri Castle, the Dodariya Cave and the Church of Mar Maron was also documented, and on Wednesday \ 4 March, the Afrinpost correspondent said that the militants of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood had begun to digging up the “Tel Endib” village near Esther village, with four digging mechanisms, in addition to a crew consisting of Turkish archaeologists and technicians, equipped with gold search devices and the digging is still ongoing.

The number of the pieces that were stolen to Turkey from Afrin reached more than 16 thousand pieces, including statues, money, seals and clay figures with cuneiforms and a lot of artifacts, including murals, huge statues and many other pieces, and all the archaeological finds belonging to the Temple Museum were also stolen Ain Dara, which was taken out by the archaeological missions that worked on the site of Tel Ein Dara and its environs. Two large boxes were removed from the Nabi Huri castle whose contents were not known, and they were transported directly to Turkey.
