Afrinpost – Special

At a time when the Coronavirus has become a preoccupation for the world, in light of the quarantine measure that the countries of the world have begun to implement, “self-management” in northern Syria through a series of measures seeks to combat any possible spread of the epidemic.

In the context, the Kurdish Red Crescent opened in Al-Shahba, a center for manufacturing medical masks, as a step in the context of preventive preparations in light of fears of the arrival of Coronavirus to the region.

In the context, Majdolin Zeno from the Kurdish Red Crescent told Afrinpost: “We are currently witnessing a global spread of a contagious virus, and for the prevention and protection of civilians, locals need masks, and therefore a sewing workshop is working in Al-Shahba to make 5,000 to 6,000 masks a day.”

Adding: “It is planned to make 50 thousand masks, according to the need, so as to distribute it to all families, and the people must not to leave their homes.”

“Zeno” pointed out that “ignoring international organizations to provide aid made us initiate the manufacture of these masks, which are not sterile, but according to the capabilities of the region amid forced displacement, and that we distribute these masks for free to the people until the end, we will support the people in terms of health.”
