“Not attending Prayers” is a pretext for Islamic militias to kidnap and seize people’s properties in “Omara” village in Afrin countryside

The militia of the “Al-Muntaser Billah” Brigade affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood launched a campaign of kidnapping and seizure of property against the original Kurdish people in the “Omara” village of Raju district, under the pretext of “not attending prayers”, according to the correspondent of Afrinpost. ”

The reporter confirmed that the militia led by Hajj Kamal kidnapped two Kurdish citizens on the twenty-second of this March, each of (Nazir Jaafar and Ahmed Jaafar) under the pretext of not attending the prayers in the village mosque, demanding their relatives the amount of one thousand US dollars to release them, while they continue to chase others under the same pretext.

The reporter added that the militia gunmen seized three agricultural tractors while their owners went to work in their fields, under the pretext of “working in prayer times” and asked them to pay 500 thousand Syrian pounds to restore the three tractors, which belong to each of (Hanif Hamo, Muhammad Ibish and Ramzi Bakr ).

The reporter pointed out that the militia imposes an amount of one thousand Syrian pounds on each citizen who does not attend the prayers in the village mosque, and the militia forced earlier, the Kurdish elderly Hamid Bilal to pay a fee estimated at 500 olive oil tank (each with a capacity of 16 kg ), Under the pretext that one of his sons was working as a judge during the previous era of “self-administration”.

This is despite the fact that the Fatwa, Endowments and Religious Affairs Department of the Turkish occupation had issued on the nineteenth of March, a circular calling on citizens to suspend the prayers, including Fridays, in all mosques in the occupied region, to prevent the Coronavirus to spread.
