The militia of the “Hamza Squad” led by the so-called Moataz maintains control the livelihoods of the people of the village of Marateh, of the Afrin Center, for about three months, by imposing a siege on its residents and obliging them to buy the very poor quality of bread, according to the correspondent of “Afrinpost ”in the occupied Kurdish regional center of Afrin.
The reporter stated that some residents are forced to bring their needs of bread through rough roads away from the road controlled by the militia security barrier, which classifies the bread material as prohibited from entering the village, as the gunmen insult those who are caught with bread when they return from Afrin and take the bread away from them.
The sources confirmed that the militia recently suffocated the villagers who bring bread and threatened to punish anyone who tries to buy other than the bread approved by the militia, if some of the village’s residents are arrested and insulted because of their lack of commitment to the mood and conditions of life imposed by the so-called “Moataz” and his gunmen.
The Afrin Center correspondent indicated that the so-called “Moataz” and his followers intend to open a vegetable market at the “automatic bakery” site belonging to the pharmacist Kamiran Ihsan, which was completely looted by them, and is currently used as a center to collect and sell firewood! To control and exploit the population.
The village of “Marateh” consists of about 700 houses, and was inhabited by about five thousand people before the Turkish aggression on the region, and about 10% of its indigenous population had to be displaced from their homes due to the war and abuse conditions imposed by the Turkish occupation and the armed militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood on the general population of the Territory’s indigenous population.
The militia recently brought about 4000 settlers from Idlib and Aleppo countryside, as a result of the battles that broke out between Islamic militias with Turkish support and the Syrian regime forces with Russian support in Idlib countryside and the western countryside of Aleppo.
Where the militia housed a portion of the settlers in the homes of the indigenous people, especially in the homes of the elders, including by foce and coercion, and the rest were resided in the tents that were erected in the square of the olive press, their number is approximately 50 tents, and some of the settler families were resided in the caves adjacent to the village, and they are all shepherds.
The so-called “Moataz” is from the town of Al-Habit in Idlib countryside, and has been living for three months in the house of “Rahim” located in the “Mezin Village”, after he brought his family from Idlib, where he provided the house with strong security fortifications from guarding and installing surveillance cameras, and he has flock of sheep about 400, two deers, and peacocks in the farm surrounding the house, and he shares the owner of the olive press in the village his profits although he is not the owner’s partner.
Militia militants occupy ten villages of (Gazeh, Mezin, Marateh, Kafarshile, Satya, Kafardeleh Fawqani, Kafardeleh Tahtani, Fakira, Gawrka and Chulaqa), and they cut about two thousand olive trees, owned by the expatriates of the village among them (Kamal Battal / 400 Trees and Muhammad Genc Abu Dalil / 300 trees), and the militants cut down the forest of “Gazé Umiye” located between the villages of “Mezin” and “Marateh” and transformed an area of 4 square kilometers completely into a treeless area.
In addition to carrying out theft and looting operations against the residents ’property of agricultural equipment and life necessities, they stole two electric generators in the village, one in the village of Marateh and the other in the water area of “ Korteh Kar ”, as the militants dismantled it to extract copper from it and the price of each One of them is “7 million Syrian pounds / more than 7000 dollars.”
The militia also carried out kidnappings against the villagers over the past two years to obtain financial ransoms, the last of which was the kidnapping of the elder “Ahmed Haidu / 72 years old”, as he was beaten and tortured, causing him blindness in one of his eyes.
In the latest flagrant violation of the “Hamza Squad” militia, the militia intends to collect an amount of two million Syrian pounds to build a security headquarters on the surface of the Haj Fouad olive press, by imposing a royalty on livestock, and homeowners who install solar panels, as 1,000 S.P will be imposed on each head of livestock, and 4000 thousand Syrian pounds on a house equipped with solar panels.
