Afrinpost – Special
The Afrinpost correspondent in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, said that the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to seize the properties of the indigenous people, by armed force, even if some of them are occupied by the settlers themselves.
In this context, the reporter pointed out that the militia of “Ahrar Al-Sharia”, affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, had seized the past few days 6 commercial stores on Afrin Jenderes Road, within an industrial gathering point known as “Rojava Lathe”.
The reporter noted that a number of these shops were occupied by settlers from Eastern Ghouta, but the “Ahrar Al-Sharqia” militia placed its hand on all of these shops in light of the displacement of the real Kurdish owners, and the settlers from Ghouta, a situation that has become common between Armed men and their families, as each militia protects its supporters from the area from which they originally came from.
The reporter pointed out that a number of these stores have been transferred to a bale clothing collection center, where a number of large trucks (locomotive and trailer) were unloaded there, and their number reached about ten trucks, which indicates the militia’s intention to trade in second-hand clothes as well.
The incident is only a continuation of the ongoing robberies and seizures since the occupation of Afrin, where Islamic militias in most villages prevented many citizens from returning to their homes and properties after seizing them, on the pretext that they had become military headquarters for Islamic militias, or that settlers with families of the militants had settled there!
On the first of October 2019, the militia of the Sultan Murad Brigade expelled the wife of the “Mohammed Dodakh” from her house located in the town of “Shara / Sharan”, which is located two hundred meters from the automatic oven in the west, and the correspondent of “Afrinpost” confirmed “After the expulsion of the seventieth Kurdish elderly woman, who is alone in her home, the militia resided in a family of settlers who were linked to its armed men instead of it.
On December 26, 2019, militants of the “Ahrar Al-Sharqia” seized a Kurdish widow’s house in the city of Afrin and subsequently plundered its contents, and rented it to a fleeing family from Idlib. The Afrinpost reporter stated that the group called “Abu Jandal” The militia took over the house of the Kurdish widow “Umm Walid” located in the Markaz al-Thaqafi neighborhood – behind the building of Afrin University, adding that the militia plundered the entire contents of the house by two trucks, after granting a 24-hour deadline to the Kurdish citizen “Othman Koumji”, who had been renting it for about Two years, to vacate the house, although the Kurdish widow lives in the village of “Gazeh”, in the district of Jenderes.
On the thirty-first of last December, “Afrinpost” touched on the name “Abu Maher Sharqiya”, a settler from Deir Al-Zour, who was previously living before the occupation of Afrin in areas of Homs countryside, and after the occupation of the Kurdish region, he settled there, to devote himself to looting and pillaging And supervise the collection of royalties from the settlers themselves, from the homes in which they reside within the security sector, which extends in a group of buildings connected between the western highway / Rojava highway ”and even to the Jenderes Road.
Abu Maher Sharqiya was not confined to the robbery and plunder that he do on the property of the displaced Kurds, but rather to possession of monthly rents for their properties that they left behind, where “Abu Maher Sharqiya” collects monthly rents from the shops and homes abandoned by the Kurdish people by the Turkish invasion, Those currently residing there, whether they are relatives of the displaced Kurds, or even settlers.
Abu Maher Sharqiya does not recognize the contracts issued by the local occupation council in Afrin. Even if there is an official contract between the owner and the resident of the property, Abu Maher Sharqiah, who benefits from the property, is obligated to pay the rent to him, instead of paying it to the real owner of the property.
