Afrinpost – Special
The Afrinpost was informed by its sources that Failaq Al-Sham militia affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, imposed a new tax on the remaining Kurdish indigenous people in the villages of “Zarka” and “Chupana” of the Raju district.
The economic bureau of the militia, leds by the so-called “Abu Al-Walid”, who has just returned from the battles east of the Euphrates, told the residents at its headquarters to collect two olive oil cans from each Kurdish family (52 families), whether their fields were fruitful this year or not.
The militia had previously collected 45 cans of olive oil (each 16 kilogram each) from the village of Zarka alone, in addition to the percentages allocated by the occupation councils to it, except for the 5% that the contemporary deducted as wages for the pressing.
With the start of the olive season in 2019, the settlers went, accompanied by the militia militants to the olive groves in the various villages, and stole the olives and sold large quantities of them for their own benefit, and imposed royalties.
The Afrinpost correspondents in the Afrin center and its countryside indicated that in most villages, an amount of 500 Syrian pounds has been imposed on every olive tree owned by the Kurdish farmers, as a royalty regardless of whether or not fruitful this year .
