Afrinpost – Special
The town of Rajo, in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, has been tense after extremist settlers objected to the decision of the Turkish religious affairs presidency, “Diyanet” of the Ankara government, to appoint a Kurdish imam and preacher to a mosque in the town.
Afrinpost correspondent in the area reported that extremist settlers refused to pray last Friday, behind the Kurdish imam “Ibrahim Naasan” at the Al-Fawqani Mosque in Rajo, because he was a “Kurd” and it is not permissible to pray behind him.
The reporter emphasized that the Turkish occupation has allocated Turkish soldiers to protect the two clerks, after settlers threaten them with death in the event that they do not step down from their duties in the mosque.
The settlers who are descended from extremist societies consider that the Kurds are “atheists and infidels” and that a Kurdish “infidel” should not be their Imam, according to their claim, which is one of the ideas that the Muslim Brotherhood cultivated among its supporters, and justified the participation of its militants alongside the Turkish occupier in displacing the Kurds and occupying their land. .
The religious affairs presidency, “Diyanet”, which is directly linked to the Turkish presidency, had appointed each of the citizens, “Ibrahim Naasan,” as an imam, and “Mustafa Bilal”, a preacher in the Al-Fawqati mosque in Raju town.
The town of Rajo and its villages are filled with ISIS elements who do not hesitate to show their affiliation with the terrorist organization, by wearing short dresses and walking barefoot in the streets, especially in the ranks of the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” militia, most of whose militants are from the governorates of Deir Ezzor, Hasaka and Raqqa.
And two reliable sources had confirmed on the twenty-second of last November, to “Afrinpost” that the so-called “Abu Yaqoub”, one of the well-known ISIS operatives, was seen wandering in the center of Rajo district in the Afrin region, in his short ISIS dress, and the Salafists like al-Qaeda .
He was also seen again in the occupation’s “Military Court”, where some news sites pointed to his work on Raju Security, led by Khaled Alloush, “Abu Sulaiman”, one of the leaders of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” militia.
The so-called “Abu Yaqoub” one of the most dangerous elements of ISIS in Deir Al-Zour, and he had the largest role in arresting of the people of his province during the period of ISIS rule, and he is considered one of the first to join his ranks, where he fled to the Turkish occupation areas, to join the ranks of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya militia” in Afrin, after the organization fell in its last stronghold, Al-Baghuz, at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
