Turkey officially opened, through a decision issued by the Turkish Minister of Customs, the crossing «olive branch» point on border with the occupied city of Afrin.
Although Turkey is trying to humanize the issue of opening the crossing, Syrians stressed that the unspoken aim of this step is to facilitate the transfer of olive oil stolen from the inhabitants of Afrin and its trees for sale in Turkish markets, or even exported to European countries, especially to Italy and Spain and distributed to the rest Countries.
The Turkish parliament has seen disagreements and disputes between MPs of the ruling “Justice and Development Party” and the opposition parties over the olive smuggled from Afrin, which is stolen by Turkish-backed factions.
