The “Afrinpost” was informed from his sources that the local occupation councils in the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin have recently started to formally approve the sale of the apartments belonging to the displaced Kurds.
The sources confirmed that the militants of the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood are currently selling the homes of the displaced in the city of Afrin, for small amounts ranging from 400-700 dollars for an apartment.
Referring to these sales operations, they are approved by the Real Estate Documentation Department in the local council of the city, after passing through the office of the mayors, which also contains mukhtars for the settlers, employed by the Turkish occupation to manage their affairs, so that mukhtars are assigned to the settlers according to the areas from which they were brought in like Ghouta, Homs, Deir Ezzor and other cities.
The occupation councils are considered only tools to implement its instructions and plans. On the fifteenth of last October, the local council of the Turkish occupation in Afrin announced its support for the Turkish invasion in northern Syria, describing this as liberating the regions from “terrorist organizations” in reference to “the Syrian Democratic Forces”
The local council published its position through an official statement to support the Turkish occupation army and Islamic militia’s invasion, stating that they support the military operation that will secure a safe return of the population to it (as described), pointing to its standing at the side of the Islamic militia and blessing their sacrifices by (liberating) Syrian lands.
Since the beginning of the application of its military occupation of the Kurdish region in March last year, the Turkish occupation formed formal councils affiliated to it in the center of Afrin and its six areas.
Occupation councils play a suspicious role represented in the legalization of criminal acts by settlers and armed men, through the enactment of legislation justifying them for robbery and appropriation under false pretexts. Last year, decisions were passed to legalize the operations of theft of agricultural seasons under the pretext of tax, whereby Islamic militias and councils seized part of the crops.
