Samarkand Brigade militia imposes royalties on 12 villages in Jenderes

The Samarkand Brigade, which is affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood, imposes royalties on Kurdish farmers in twelve villages occupied by the militia in the occupied Kurdish Afrin region, and threatens them to cut trees if they refuse to pay.

The Afrinpost correspondent in Jenderes District confirmed that the militia imposed a royalty of $ 2 on each olive tree owned by the Kurdish farmers in those villages, noting that it threatened those who refuse to pay the royalty to cut their trees and sell them as firewood.

The militia is based in the village of Kafar Safra, in addition to 12 other villages it controls, including “Baraka”, “Raja”, “Haj Qasimah”, “Dala” and others.

The “Samarkand Brigade” militia is considered one of the ethnically hybrid militias. It was established in the year 2016 in Aleppo countryside, and includes militants from Central Asia, especially the Uzbeks, and was established with the main objective of fighting the Kurds.

It participated in the Turkish invasion of the Afrin occupation. And at the beginning of last October, “Syrians of Truth and Justice” organization said in a report that it was able to document the arrest and detention of 80 people during the month of August 2019, 63 people during the month of July 2019, and 56 people during the month of June 2019.

It also noted that the militia “Military Police”, “Civil Police”, “Political Security”, “Al-Shamiyah Front”, “Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade”, “Sultan Murad Brigade”, “Samarkand Brigade”, “Al Waqas Brigade” and “Ahrar Al Sharqiya” And the “Hamza Squad” were responsible for its implementation.
