Militia “Hamzah Division” cuts 2,000 olive trees near the village of Kafarshil

Afrinpost – Special

The Islamic militias of the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood are continuing their frantic campaign to target olive fields and cut them all over Afrin in order to sell them as firewood in light of the high demand due to the very high fuel prices.

Around 2,000 olive trees were unfairly cut by gunmen from the al-Hamzah militia in a field on the road to the village of Kafarshile / Kafarshil of the Afrin Center, according to the Afrinpost reporter.

The targeted field is owned by Hussein Hajji, a resident of the village of Alamdara in Raju district.

The firewood is sent to the firewood centers in the new bridge in the center of Afrin to be sold there.

Since the beginning of last October, militants of Islamic militias have formed workshops of militants, cutting trees from the forests of Afrin province and collecting firewood in fixed centers on the outskirts of villages.

The militias sold one ton of cypress and pine wood between 20,000 and 30,000 Syrian pounds, and large quantities were exported to Turkey for conversion into coal.

The militants also cut olive trees from some orchards belonging to the forcibly displaced people from Afrin to the areas of al-Shahba, northern Syria, despite the claim of the local council of the occupation to issue instructions not to cut trees or trade in them, as it is known that the decisions of these councils apply to the indigenous Kurds only , but not to
Militants or settlers.

Residents in the Kurdish region are forced to buy firewood as an alternative heating method for fuel-fired heaters, as a result of the high price of diesel oil, which sells for about 120 thousand pounds.
