Afrinpost – Special
In the second tragedy of the same Afrini family, which last week the roof of the house collapsed on its displaced residents in the village of Babans in Al-Shahba regions collapsed, with heavy rains raining in the area, which resulted in fractures in the body of one of its children.
After they left their homes and went in fear of the lives of their children from the Turkish bombing of Afrin, the Afrini family was forced to live in a semi-destroyed house in the Shahba areas, without the tragedy ending there, as one of their sons lost his life last year, as a result of the collapse of the roof of a destroyed house he was living in due to the rains.
The displaced people of Afrin face endless suffering and pain, which escalated with the onset of winter and their confrontation with severe winter with heavy rains.
The displaced families live in semi-destroyed homes after the wars in Shahba since the beginnings of the armed rebellion of the Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in 2011.
Among those is the house where the family of the 10-year-old Fakhri Bakr, who lives in a semi-destroyed house in the village of Babans in Shahba, lives with his grandmother after his mother’s death.
His grandmother, Mrs. Hikmat Aslan, says that in the past winter, with their displacement from Afrin as a result of the attacks and the bombing of warplanes on them, they deserted Afrin and took refuge in Al-Shahba, where they suffered a similar accident a year ago when a semi-destroyed house also collapsed on her 37-year-old son Serbest Bakr. He was a father of 3 children, and this led to his death (knowing that the child who was injured in the second collapse is the son of the deceased Serbest).
Noting that they face great tragedy and suffering when the heavy rains and the increasing cold in the winter, saying: “What will be our fate, we are still in this destroyed house for more than a year and a half, and so far after this incident there is no other place to go to, if we do not return to our land and our homes in Afrin, we will remain like this. “
