The Afrin Liberation Forces said in a written statement issued on Tuesday that their forces carried out a military operation on November 25 against the positions of militants of the militia, “Liwa Al-Waqas” in the village of Twis in Marea area, and the process killed five gunmen and wounded six others.

The statement pointed out that their forces confronted the armed militias that attempted to carry out an attack on the village of Malikiyah in the district of Shara \ Sharan, which resulted in the failure of the attack, while the Turkish occupation forces shelled the village of Marnaz in the same area.

Six militants from the Liwa Al-Waqas were killed and nine others were wounded on 17 October, following a rocket attack by the Afrin Liberation Forces on military checkpoints in the Twis front east of the occupied city of Marea.

The Afrin Liberation Forces have stepped up their attacks on Islamist militia outposts in Afrin countryside and the northern countryside of Aleppo since the Turkish invasion began on the autonomous areas of northern and eastern Syria.
