A pro-Turkish website and Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islamic militias said the so-called “Syrian National Coalition” led by the Brotherhood had also received threats from the United States to impose sanctions, but a source in the coalition denied it.
According to Turkish sources revealed to the site called the “Al Arabi Aljadeed”, Washington has informed Ankara of these warnings and that it will work to put Islamic militias and their leaders in the lists of terrorism, because of those militias abuses and violations against civilians in areas of the Turkish military invasion.
Among the most prominent Islamic militias threatened by the site are the militias of the Sultan Murad Division, Ahrar al-Sharqiyah, Ahrar al-Sham, Failaq al-Sham, and the former leader of the al-Sham Brigade, Yasser Abdul Rahim, who is close to Turkish occupation.
However, the sources pointed out that after the transfer of this US warning to Ankara, there was a relative calm in this file, which indicates that these American threats are not serious, and therefore Washington will keep the file of crimes committed by Islamic militias in their conquests in eastern Euphrates specifically without crimes in Afrin will be kept secret, and it will not be included on terrorist lists unless it conforms to US interests, despite the existence of hundreds of documented violations and crimes.
