Five Kurdish citizens were killed and about 30 people were injured, most of them are indigenous of Afrin, as a result of a car bomb explosion on Tuesday morning, in the center of Jenderes district, south of the Kurdish-occupied Afrin province.
A car bomb exploded on the main road leading to the village of Yalanquz in the district of Jenderes at noon today. Two of the martyrs were from the village of Kura, two of them were from the village of Baflour of Jenderes district. The identity of the fifth victim was not revealed.
The explosion caused material damage to shops and residential buildings, ” said the Afrin Post reporter. He pointed out that the explosion targeted Yalanquz Street, which is known to be the majority of its shops and residential buildings inhabited by the original Kurdish residents, pointing out that the aim of the bombing is to displace the remaining residents.
The reporter noted that following the recent war in Idlib, Jenderes overcrowded the settlers from Idlib and its countryside, leaving no empty houses, which explains the desire of the militants to target the indigenous Kurds, in order to displace them and seize their homes to give them to the settlers.
The Kurdish-occupied province of Afrin has been in turmoil since the Turkish military occupation in March 2018, amid repeated explosions by cars, motorcycles, or explosive devices, as a result of the dispute between Islamic militias over the sharing of property of Afrin displaced people and the desire to displace the indigenous Kurdish population.
