A joint patrol of Turkish intelligence and the Civil Police militia in Mobata district arrested on March 17, 2024, Kurdish citizen “Farouq Mohammed Jameel Sheikho” (55 years old) from the village of “Semalka.” He was charged with participating in the night watch patrols during the period of the previous Autonomous Administration and remains arbitrarily detained, according to a report by the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party (Yekiti).
Furthermore, our sources in Afrin confirmed that for over a month, Turkish intelligence and the Civil Police militia have detained citizen “Adnan Al-Khalaf” (35 years old) from Arab community in Afrin, on unknown charges to his family. This occurred after he was forcibly deported from Turkey and arrived in the village of Hekeche – Jindires, from where his wife hails. Noting that he remains under arbitrary detention, raising further concerns about the situation in occupied Afrin.
