In a recent development, the Turkish court in the city of Azaz handed down a three-year prison sentence to Mr. Ahmad Qadir Habash, a resident of the village of Dîkê\Dikeh in the Rajo district. Additionally, he faces a fine of $1500 and has been transferred to Al-Ra’i Prison. The charges stem from his attempted border crossing into Turkish territory.
Mr. Habash, aged 45 and originally from Aleppo, endeavored to cross the border from Azaz in May 2023. His whereabouts remained unknown for a period until it was discovered that he had been apprehended by the military police militia in Azaz.
In a parallel incident, the military police militia in Jindires district detained Mr. Abdul Rahman Haskeh, a 32-year-old resident of the village of Miskeh, residing in Jindires town, on December 15th, without explicit reasons provided.
