Mustafa Yahya Al-Hussein, a young man from the village of Bash Delki in the Sarrin district, eastern Aleppo, was killed in gunfire directed at a military vehicle belonging to Al-Jabha al-Shamiya militia. The vehicle was transporting civilians attempting to smuggle into Turkish territory through smuggling routes.
According to our correspondent, the vehicle driver refused to stop at a checkpoint manned by the military police militia in the occupied city of Azaz. In response, the checkpoint personnel opened direct fire on the vehicle, resulting in the immediate death of Mustafa and serious injuries to two others.
This incident follows the killing of a young man from the town of Rityan in northern Aleppo on the evening of September 19. He was shot by Turkish gendarmes while attempting to enter Turkish territory via the Syrian-Turkish border near Idlib.
Since the beginning of 2023, Turkish gendarmes have reportedly killed 27 individuals, with more than 111 others injured while attempting to cross the border. Some have suffered permanent disabilities due to brutal beatings with sticks and kicks, being thrown behind the border barrier while bleeding.
