Violent clashes erupted on the evening of August 14th between the Syrian Army and the Turkish-affiliated “Syrian National Army” militias along the Maarat-Harbal axis in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The clashes were accompanied by an exchange of artillery fire between the two sides.

During the engagement, a soldier from the Syrian Army’s Fifth Corps Special Units, Sergeant “Jaafar Abdou,” was killed by sniper fire on the Maalajah axis in the southern Idlib countryside. In response, the Syrian Army carried out artillery strikes on positions held by “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” (HTS) on the Afes and Majariz axes in the eastern Idlib countryside, as well as around the villages of Tafahiya and Shahroura in the northern Latakia countryside. These retaliatory strikes resulted in the death of a militant.

Notably, on August 12th, the Syrian Army had heavily and intensely shelled the vicinity of Kafr Nouran village in the western countryside of Aleppo, as well as the Sahl al-Ghab axis in the northern Hama countryside.

Furthermore, two soldiers were killed and several others were wounded in an attack carried out by “Tahrir al-Sham” on Syrian Army positions along the Ain al-Beida axis in the northern Latakia countryside. One of the deceased soldiers was identified as “Ahad Yahya Mursal.”
