Amid escalating tensions in the region, a clash broke out on Friday, August 18, between members of the “Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade,” commonly known as Al-Amshat militia, and IDPs hailing from the village of Ainjara in northern Aleppo countryside. The clash occurred near the “Madiyah” bakery in the occupied city of Jandaris.
Our correspondent reported that during the skirmish, IDPs from Ainjara managed to capture a group of Al-Amshat militia members and seize their vehicle, while others managed to escape from the scene of the conflict.
Our correspondent clarified that the leader of the Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade, known as “Abu Amsha,” appealed to the military police to intervene on behalf of the detained group and the impounded vehicle for a swift resolution.
Coincidentally, Abu Amsha found himself engaged in orchestrating protests against a recent decision by the US Treasury Department. The decision entails imposing sanctions on the Abu Amsha militia and their partner, “Sig Bolad,” the leader of the “Hamza Brigade,” due to their extensive record of grave violations against the people of Afrin. This decision further stoked tensions in the region.
