Amid the prevailing chaos and security vacuum in the occupied region of Afrin, acts of targeted killings and the use of explosive devices continue among the militias of the Turkish-affiliated “Syrian National Army”.
In this context, a member of the “Hamza Brigade” militia was critically injured today morning, June 25th, when an explosive device detonated in his car in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood of the occupied city of Afrin.
According to our correspondent, the device exploded as the militia member, known as “Abdulrahman Al-Jassim,” was getting into his car in front of his house in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood, resulting in the amputation of his legs and hands.
Our correspondent also noted that the targeted member belonged to the Al-Umairat clan from the occupied city of Afrin and had participated with the “National Army” militias in the occupation of Afrin in 2018.
This incident comes a day after the killing of another member of the “Mohammed al-Fateh” militia named “Ahmed Fayez Otabashi,” from the Al-Midan neighborhood in Damascus, who was run over by a military vehicle on the road to the village of Hisê/Mirkan in the Mobata/Maabatli sub-district of the occupied Afrin region. The vehicle was driven by masked individuals affiliated with the leader of the “Al-Amshat” militia, known as “Abu Sakhr.”
