Today, 30 May, members of the intelligence division of the Military Police militia in Jarabulus, under direct orders from Turkish intelligence, arrested Hamed Ali, a correspondent for Radio Al-Kul affiliated with the Syrian opposition. The arrest was made in response to a post on his personal page mocking the Turkish presidential elections.

According to our correspondent, the intelligence division of the Military Police militia summoned journalist Hamed Ali due to a post in which he ridiculed the Turkish presidential elections. He was released a few hours after the arrest. Immediately upon his release from prison, the journalist published another post criticizing the manner of his arrest by the Military Police militia, comparing their arrest tactics to the oppressive practices of the Syrian regime, including the use of vulgar and insulting language towards detainees.

As a result, a patrol from the intelligence division of the Military Police militia proceeded to the journalist’s residence in Jarabulus city, resulting in his second arrest within two days on charges of insulting the Military Police and mocking the Turkish presidential elections.

On May 13, a joint patrol of Turkish intelligence and the “National Army” militia arrested media activist Abu Al-Mughira Al-Shamali in the village of Hawar Kalas, affiliated with the Suhouran subdistrict in the countryside of Azaz, on charges of destabilizing security and stability in the area.

On April 12, 2023, unidentified gunmen targeted the car of Abdullah Al-Omar, the director of “Baladna” TV, with a hand grenade in the midst of Azaz city in northern Aleppo countryside. This attack came in response to his criticism of the “National Army” militias, leading some to refer to them as fools.
