In a recent development, video clips have emerged showing Turkish-affiliated militias and the committees formed by them removing tents from the Jindires sub-district of the Afrin countryside. This comes after staged videos were recorded for international organizations about delivering aid to those affected by the earthquake.
According to sources close to the situation, some associations and organizations had set up tents in Jindires lacking protection from storms and rain. The militants filmed the tents, creating the impression that aid was being distributed to earthquake victims, and sent the footage to relevant authorities to deceive them into thinking that aid from foreign countries was reaching affected people. The militias later removed the tents.
However, exclusive sources for “afrinpost” report that humanitarian organizations are exploiting the situation of the affected earthquake victims and stealing aid, particularly since there are dozens of families living in the open and without shelter in villages in the occupied Jindeires district.
Moreover, a video clip has been circulated by activists in the occupied city of Afrin, in which an elderly man and his wife express their disappointment about not receiving any humanitarian or relief aid, despite a month passing since the earthquake disaster.
It is worth noting that Ankara-affiliated militias seized dozens of trucks loaded with relief materials for local and international convoys that entered the cities of Afrin and Jindires. They distributed some of the aid to the families and IDPs loyal to them and stored the rest in warehouses for trading.
