Yesterday evening, January 23, members of the “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” organization stormed a military headquarters belonging to the Turkish-supported “Sultan Murad” militia, which was the headquarters of the so-called “Committee for Restoration of Rights and Grievances” near the Serail building in the occupied city of Afrin, and the “Sultan Murad” militia was taking it as its headquarters after expelling Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya militia from the area.
Dozens of HTS members, led by the so-called “Abu Abdullah Al-Iraqi,” stormed the headquarters after besieging it from all directions and deploying the members on the residential buildings overlooking the headquarters, until they took over the headquarters, without significant resistance or fight by the “Sultan Murad” militia members, our reporter in Afrin stated.
The elements of the so-called “Iraqi” also took control of the headquarters of Sultan Murad, in the former People’s Credit Bank building, after expelling all its gunmen, the reporter added.
“Abu Abdullah Al-Iraqi” informed the leaders of the “Sultan Murad” militia that they would control all the headquarters that were previously in the hands of the “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” militia in the occupied city of Afrin.
In the same context, yesterday, the security apparatus of the “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” organization launched raids on several houses in the vicinity of Qabban roundabout in Al-Ashrafieh neighborhood, in search of wanted members of the “Al-Jabha al-Shamiyya” militia, while screams of women from IDP families residing in those houses were heard according to our sources.
