Turkish authorities arrest Kurds and release one for ransome, in Syria’s Afrin

Our reporter in the city of Afrin stated today that Turkish intelligence arrested this morning, Thursday (16 June), the Kurdish citizen, Muhammad Ahmed Mustafa, 38, from his home in al-Ashrafieh neighborhood in the center of the occupied region of Afrin in northern Syria, on charges of belonging to the People’s Protection Units (YPG) during the autonomous administration period.

The young man “Muhammad” is from the village of Kakhreh – Ma’batli district, and works in a sawmill for building stones .

“The security headquarters of the Turkish-backed “Jaish al-Sharqiya” militia in the village of Aghjala, summoned about a month ago (last May 15), the Kurdish citizen “Ahmed Ramadan Khalil” (30 year), married and has four children, under the pretext of conducting an investigation with him on accusations related to dealing with the former Autonomous Administration, and then kidnapped him, and his fate is still unknown to this day.” the reporter added.

In a related context, the Turkish authorities released on Monday afternoon (June 13th) the Kurdish citizen “Muhammad Nizar Bozan” after a period of 14 days of his arbitrary arrest by the “military police” militias from his home in the village of Yalanqoz-Jenderes, knowing that he is from the people of Sindanke Village.

The 25-year-old citizen, “Bozan,” paid a fine of 3,500 Turkish liras, in addition to 450 Turkish liras he paid to the tow yard to get his car that was towed during his arrest.

“Afrinpost” recorded 53 cases of arrest and kidnapping, during the month of May, including 5 women, and five people from the Arab component in the occupied region of Afrin, and two arrests of Kurdish citizens on Turkish territory.
