Four Kurds arrested, including Gewenda village mayor, in Afrin

The Turkish-backed “Revolutionaries for Liberation” militia, affiliated with the “National Army”, kidnapped the Kurdish citizen Hannan Muhammad Hashko, nicknamed “Sina”, born in 1964, from his home in the village of Kure- Rajo district, and took him to unknown destination.

According to our sources, the citizen “Hannan”, who is the mayor of the village appointed by the Turkish authorities in Afrin, was kidnapped on charges of working to return the village’s displaced to their homes.

Also in the villages of Meydana, the Civil Police militia, accompanied by the Turkish intelligence, arrested on May 17, 2022, three citizens (Saeed Naasan Arab, 52 years old – Seydo Muhammad Sido, 50 years old – Safar Mustafa 63 years old) from their homes in Gewenda village – Rajo district on charges Out on guard duty in the previous self-management period.

According to the Human Rights Organization in Afrin, the three arrested citizens were released after being forced to pay a ransom of two thousand Turkish liras each.

In the first half of this May, “afrinpost” recorded 14 cases of arrest and kidnapping of Kurdish civilians, including a woman, in addition to two IDPs.
