Last week, the Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and organized by the Muslim Brotherhood, in the plain of the village of Juqiya / Juweiq, in the center of the occupied Kurdish region of Afrin, cut down dozens of olive trees belonging to a Kurdish citizen.
The Afrinpost correspondent in the district center indicated that dozens of olive trees belonging to the citizen “Fawzi Shakib” from the people of “Gunde Qesim / Qasim Village” in Rajo district, which he owns in the Jawqiya / Juwaiq Plain, reported that the trees are over 60 years old.
The occupied Kurdish region is witnessing continuous cutting of forest trees and perennial olive trees by Islamic militia militants and their settler families. The correspondents of Afrinpost had indicated in earlier times that the occupation militias cut down forest trees as well as olives belonging to the displaced of Afrin, and collect firewood in centers on the outskirts of villages with the aim of selling them and exporting the rest to Turkey.
Since the implementation of the Turkish occupation on March 18, 2018, Afrin has also witnessed the burning of thousands of forest trees, olive trees and others, by Islamic militias in the mountains of the region, under the pretext of the presence of cells of the “People’s Protection Units”.
