Afrinpost – Special

Militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood take advantage of all religious occasions and turn them into reasons for looting and plundering, and they consider Afrin bounties, as spoils of war. With the approach of the blessed Eid Al-Adha festival, fraud and looting, theft, robbery, appropriation and kidnapping to collect the ransom have increased, while expired items are repeatedly distributed as baby food and milk.

In this context, the militia of the “Military Police” in the city of Afrin, in the early hours of Tuesday / 14th of July, kidnapped the citizen Mohammed Meddo (45 years), from Hassan Dera village in the Bulbul district, who is residing in Afrin Al-Jadida, and that after his return from the city of Azaz, as he is making efforts regarding the kidnapped students who return after setting for exams in Aleppo, at the garage by the militia of the “Al-Shamiya Front” militia, and took him to their headquarters in order to extort him and demand ransom in exchange for his release, and it is reported that the kidnapping took place in conjunction with the kidnapping of a resident of the same neighborhood, he was later released after paying the ransom.

The militants of the “Military Police” militia accompanied by the Turkish Intelligence on Tuesday / the fourteenth of July, arrested the young Shero Jamil Maho (20 years) from the people of the village of Ma’mla of Raju district for his relations with the “People’s Protection Units/YPG”. The Citizen Shero was taken to the militia headquarters in the town of Ba’dina, and no information is known about his fate.

Also, gunmen affiliated with the militia of “Sultan Muhammed Al-Fateh Squad” occupying the village of Korkan Tahatani on Tuesday / the fourteenth of July, summoned Professor Khushnaf Hassan Hassan without clarifying the reasons, and upon inquiring about his condition, the militia denied their knowledge in the beginning, and with the repeated question they stated that the citizen Khushnaf was taken to Al-Ra’i prison in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and his fate remains unknown.

In an accident, all details are suspected, the citizen Abdel-Qadim Bin Jalal Ibrahim (50 years old), a tailor and known as “Qadim” , who is from Mosankeh village and his shop located on Raju Street, was assaulted and stabbed.

In detail, an armed militant in one of the militias, offered the citizen Abdel-Qadim a quantity of threads for free, which raised his doubts, and he hesitated about the matter, and as a result of the urgency he accepted going with him to his house to see the threads, this was on Wednesday \ 15th of July. While entering the house, he was beaten with punches and beaten with a sharp object (a knife), but the citizen Abdel-Qadim was able to escape, and he went to a hospital in the city of Afrin to receive treatment.

Abdel-Qadim is still bedridden, and he filed a complaint about the incident with the civil police militia, and he provided full information about the details of what happened, so he was arrested at that night, and the case is still open.

Also, an armed gang of settlers, at six thirty in the morning on Wednesday / 25 July, attacked the citizen Ali Mustafa Hassan (48 years), from the village of Korkan Tahtani, of the “Mobata \ Ma’batli” district, and beat and insulted him while he was tending his livestock, then they expelled him, after stealing and robbing four cattle (a ram, a sheep, and two goats) from a site known as “Sere Shikateh”

The incident comes with the approach of the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday, which settlers are preparing to offer stolen sacrifices from the people of Afrin, which corresponds to the culture of atonement they believe in, as they call their theft, killing and collecting royalties as spoils of war.

Simultaneously, armed men of the “Rijal Al-Harb/ War Men” militia (the Economic Bureau) occupying the village of Khilalka, which is located in Bulbul district, on Thursday / the sixteenth of July, imposed royalties and taxes on the Kurdish peasants and collect them by force of arms without mentioning the reasons or invoking any argument. The amount of the royalty imposed reached 300 thousand Syrian pounds.

After Raju, the phenomenon of distributing food and expired milk in the Bulbul district was repeated, as the Directorate of Health of the Local Council of the Occupation in the district, on Thursday / the sixteenth of July, distributed quantities of cans of expired milk to the villagers.

The accident comes in a repeat of what happened in the villages of Raju district, at the beginning of last July, when expired materials were distributed as food and milk for children, which led to a number of children being poisoned and transferred to health centers in the district.
