The commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, General Mazloum Abdi, condemned the terrorist bombing that hit the center of the occupied Afrin region yesterday, Tuesday, by the Turkish occupation and its agents of the Muslim Brotherhood, who call themselves “the Syrian National Army / Free Army.”
Abdi said today, Wednesday, that it is a “terrorist act” that caused the loss of innocent lives, by tweeting in his account on “Twitter”, in which he explained that this “criminal” act is the result of the policy of destruction pursued by the Turkish state and its armed opposition factions, in a city “Peace and Olives” in Afrin.
For his part, the “Defense Office” in the Self-Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria, on Wednesday, held the Turkish occupation responsible for the bombing of Afrin, and demanded the parties concerned to work to remove Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood militias operating under its banner from all Syrian lands.
The Democratic Council of Syria accused, earlier Wednesday, the Turkish occupation and its Muslim Brotherhood militia, of “opening the door wide open to the forces of terrorism in order to organize their ranks and carry out their cowardly actions under Turkish protection for them.”
“These forces are practicing killing and kidnapping the indigenous people of Afrin,” SDC added, “and not even the elderly have escaped from it, and the property and agricultural lands of the civilians have been confiscated in order to displace them and change the demography of the city.”
While the US State Department condemned on the night of Tuesday-Wednesday, the Afrin bombing, calling for a cease-fire in Syria, ignoring that it had participated with Moscow in opening the way for the Turkish occupation in order to expand in Afrin and areas from east of the Euphrates, so that all areas subject to Ankara become a hotbed of terrorism and its incubators, to multiply in it and to build sleeping cells and revives ISIS and its sisters again, albeit in other names.
The State Department’s spokesperson, Morgan Ortagus, said that the attack “claimed the lives of people who were shopping in preparation for the Ramadan Iftar”.
In a tweet on his official Twitter account, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed the renewed call by the United States of America to support and implement a ceasefire in Syria.
He said, “After the cowardly terrorist act that took place today on innocent victims in Afrin, these acts of evil are unacceptable to any side in this conflict.” For his part, the UN special envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, condemned the bombing, and stressed his call for a ceasefire In all Syrian regions.
Despite the dozens of bombings in Afrin since the military occupation was applied to it, the Turkish occupation and its agents of the Muslim Brotherhood who call themselves the “Syrian National Army / Free Army”, were not implicated in it, and only blamed the Kurdish forces, at the time, where a Kurdish citizen of Afrin is not allowed to photograph his city for seconds, before being kidnapped and tortured until death!
