Islamic militias affiliated with the Turkish occupation and the Muslim Brotherhood continue to use kidnapping and arrest as a means of blackmail, and to impose pressure and restrictions on the remaining Kurdish indigenous people in the occupied Afrin region, with the aim of expelling them from their homes for the benefit of Islamic settlers loyal to them.
In the context, the Afrinpost correspondent in the “Shieh / Sheikh Al-Hadid” district said that the militia of “Sultan Suleiman Shah / Amshahat” Brigade had kidnapped five Kurdish citizens, on Monday, the 27th of April, in the village of “ Chaqala, which is affiliated with the district, demanding $ 3,000 for each of them.
The reporter documented the names of the kidnapees in “Chaqale Orte / Chaqal Wastani”, namely: (Bayram Bakr Hamo, 80 years old, and his brother Bakr Hamo, 72 years old, and his other brother, Aref Bakr Hamo, 70 years old), while the militia had kidnapped in the village of “Chaqale Jourin / Chaqala Fawqani” each of (Muhammad Battal / 60 years old and Adnan Mahmoud Battal / 35 years old).
Islamic militias rely on kidnapping as a means of obtaining money, which is one of the methods they followed since the beginning of the occupation of Afrin, while the Turkish occupation supervises these operations as one of the methods of displacing the Kurds and preventing the displaced from returning.
