Afrinpost – Special
The Turkish occupation forces and its Islamic militias affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood continue to close all entry points to the occupied Kurdish Afrin region, as well as all the city’s roads were closed from “Kawa Roundabout” through “Nowruz Roundabout” to Jenderes Road, and security measures were intensified, where fuel tankers were not allowed to enter in the city, after the terrorist bombing on Tuesday afternoon, killing nearly 60 people, and wounding about 50 others, among them indigenous people of the region.
A new video clip, taken by one of the surveillance cameras, spread on the Raju Road in the city center, showed that the explosion was carried out by a white “Van”, and the fire has spread from it to the fuel truck, increasing the power of the explosion, which caused a huge material loss in the area from the “Watani” roundabout to the “Vin” restaurant on the main road, where the storefronts were destroyed, in addition to the gunmen and settlers taking advantage of the chaos after the bombing, to carry out theft operations of money-changing stores, gold shops and others.
It is noted in the video clip that the white van, which was detonated, is owned exclusively by Islamic militias known as the “National Army”, as their cars are without plates, while civilian cars must have plates, which confirms that the Islamic militias are behind the bombing, and through it they tried to deter the Turkish decision from sending them as “mercenaries / hired killers” to Libya, after completing the same mission in Syria, and with the possibility of sending them to Yemen in the future.
Why was the number of victims so high?
In addition to the crowded markets in Ramadan, where people are forced to go out in order to provide food supplies, local sources ,who were at the site of the bombing, reported that the “Military Police” militia was arresting a person at the site just before the explosion, and that the person resisted the patrol, and he shouted at them, causing people to gather at the sidewalks to see what was happening, where the explosion occured , which increased the number of victims.
It is reported that the bloody bombing was followed hours later by two other explosions in the city of Afrin, one of which was by a sticky device in a “Santa Fe” car on Municipal Stadium Street and resulted in the killing of an alleged in the “Ahrar al-Sharqiya militia”, and the second was by an explosive device in the Mahmudiyah neighborhood near the water channel. The damage was limited to material losses only, as a vehicle parked at the site of the explosion was burned.
