In their attempts to combine Afrin/Rojava and change its demography, The Turkish occupation creates a civil status to distribute its cards to the settlers!

AFRINPOST
The Turkish occupation Council in the Kurdish region of Afrin, which is affiliated with the self-administration of northern and eastern Syria, on Tuesday confirmed the start of issuing personal electronic cards to residents of the city.

According to the occupying Council, the “Department of civil and Personal status” has begun issuing personal cards to all segments of society in the city, villages and surrounding towns, including the indigenous population and settlers.

The Turkish decision aims to dilute the inherent affiliation to Afrin, by giving settlers identity cards proving that they are from Afrin, and thus not being able to distinguish later between the indigenous population of the Kurdish region, or settlers who were brought under occupation to bring about demographic change.

The announcement was made in an official statement published by the Occupation Council on its official Facebook page, where it called on the people to review the institution of civil and personal status to obtain an identity card in the building of the new local council in the city.
