Our correspondent reported that approximately 25 Kurdish families visited Al-Rai Prison in the Al-Bab region yesterday to inquire about the fate of their relatives who have been detained there for years.
The correspondent noted that dozens, potentially hundreds, of detainees from Afrin remain imprisoned despite a general amnesty announced by the so-called “Syrian Interim Government.” Authorities claim that the files of these detainees are under the jurisdiction of Turkish intelligence.
This development follows an incident on December 8, when a crowd of residents from Al-Bab stormed Al-Rai Prison, breaking its gates and releasing hundreds of prisoners. Among those freed were individuals from Afrin, though no precise count or personal details of those released are currently available.
