Our correspondent reports that two fighters from the “Jaish Al-Nukhba” militia, led by Abu Awad, were killed today by armed IDPs from the Mawali tribe, specifically from the Tuqan clan, following intense clashes near Nabi Hori Castle in the Bulbul district of occupied Afrin.
According to our correspondent, the clashes erupted after elements of Abu Awad’s group attacked IDPs from the Mawali tribe who were cultivating seized land near Nabi Hori Castle. The militia claimed that the land fell within the “Jaish Al-Nukhba” sector, leading to a verbal altercation. The militia then confiscated a vehicle belonging to the Mawali tribe, seized their weapons, and expelled them from the land.
Our correspondent further explained that Abu Awad ordered his men stationed near Nabi Hori Castle to open fire with a 23mm machine gun on the Mawali members. This resulted in serious injuries to a woman and a child from the Mawali tribe, who were subsequently transported to Afrin hospitals for treatment. Knowing that tensions remain high in the Nabi Hori area between the two groups.
