According to our reporter, approximately ten days ago, a patrol from the Turkish-backed “Military Police” militia in Rajo raided the home of Ali Saleh Saleh, a 45-year-old resident of the village of Al-Taniya, located in Al-Sukhour neighborhood of Rajo. The patrol arrested, beat, and insulted Ali in front of his family before detaining and torturing him for several hours at the militia’s headquarters.
The incident stemmed from Ali’s refusal to surrender his home to a militia leader known as “Abu Mudhar,” who is part of the “Ninth Division” and hails from Homs. Abu Mudhar intended to house his relatives in the property. For the past four years, the house had been occupied without compensation by a traffic policeman named Muhammad Barakat, who recently vacated the property and returned it to Ali.
Abu Mudhar claimed that the house belonged to Ali’s absent brother, justifying his seizure of the property. However, all neighbors and acquaintances testified that the house rightfully belongs to Ali.
