Hundreds of citizens from the city of Jindires gathered today, March 14th, to mourn the death of the teenager, Ahmed Khaled Mamo Made, who was killed yesterday by an IDP.
The horrific crime, revealed yesterday evening on March 13th, during the fourth day of Ramadan, has sparked anger among the people of Afrin. Immediately, hundreds participated in a demonstration condemning the crime and demanding accountability for the killer. Upon the arrival of the body to Jindires, gunfire was heard, aimed at intimidating and dispersing the crowd.
According to local sources, the perpetrator, Yamen Ahmed Ibrahim, was not alone in committing the crime. Other individuals were involved as well.
It is ironic that the timing of the crime occurred just two days before the birthday of the boy, Ahmed Khaled Made, for whom his family had prepared valuable gifts.
The IDP, Yamen Ahmed Ibrahim (18 years old), from Sinjar in Idlib, fatally stabbed Ahmed Khaled Mada (16 years old), from the village of Hamameh/Al-Hamam in Jindires, Afrin.
A fight had occurred a week prior between the teenager, Ahmed, son of Khalid Mamo Made, owner of Made Bakery, where the IDP, Yamen, works. Yesterday, amid the dispute, Yaman fatally stabbed Ahmed and threw him into a well along the road between Jindires city and the village of Tel Sallor, owned by the citizen Haj Ibrahim.
The locals, along with the so-called Civil Defense team, quickly retrieved the body from the well after apprehending the killer and his confession regarding the location of the body. The body was then transported to the military hospital in the occupied city of Afrin, amidst the anger of the gathered citizens outside the hospital.
This crime comes just days after the stabbing incident involving the Kurdish student, Shiyar Ibrahim, by his IDP classmates at a high school in the town of Mobata.
On the afternoon of February 25, 2014, Shiyar Ibrahim Omar, a student, was subjected to a bloody attack with the intention of murder inside a classroom at the school, by four IDP students from the countryside of Aleppo and Hama. Knives and a military bayonet were used in the attack, causing severe bleeding. He was immediately rushed to a clinic in Mobata and then to the Amanos Hospital in Afrin City, where necessary surgical intervention was performed to save his life. He remains bedridden. According to doctors, the stab wounds Shiyar sustained were deep and dangerous, causing severe bleeding.
Also, the killing of Ahmed comes just days before the first anniversary of the Jindires massacre, in which four people from the Kurdish Peshmerg family were killed by armed individuals affiliated with “Jaish Al-Sharqiya” militia on the eve of Newroz.
