According to our reporter in Afrin city, the military police militia linked to the Turkish forces apprehended Jamil Hanou Abdul, aged 48, from Gamrouk village in Shara district, from his residence near the Newroz Roundabout in central occupied Afrin on February 7th. This was done under the pretext of investigating the recent bombing incident at the roundabout.
Additionally, another individual from Jwaiq village was also detained on the same day, along with five others suspected of being connected to the Newroz Roundabout bombing. This includes a child injured during the explosion, bringing the total tally of detainees to eight Kurdish citizens.
Further arrests were made, including Ahmed Mohammed (Kahrabji) and Mustafa Ahmed from Sheetana/Rahmania village in Mobata district, Hassan Sheikhoo from Meydana village in Rajo district, Zuhair Hanan from Kafrzite village in Jindires district, and Khaled Mohammed Waqas from kaxrê\Kakhreh village in Mobata district. They were all apprehended from their residences near the Newroz Roundabout, all accused of involvement in the roundabout bombing incident.
On February 6th, a motorcycle rigged with explosives detonated near the Newroz Roundabout, causing injuries to civilians and militants affiliated with the “Syrian National Army” militias, alongside damage to vehicles and shops.
The Turkish allied militias, including the military police and Sultan Murad forces, arrested the injured child, alleging his role in placing the booby-trapped motorcycle near the roundabout, as reported by our soutces.
