Our sources in Afrin reported that Turkish authorities apprehended three individuals in the occupied Afrin region, while a fourth person was abducted. The charges against them spanned smuggling activities on one front and collaboration with the Syrian regime on the other.
Providing intricate details, the military police cordoned off a residence seized by a IDP from Deir Jamal town in the village of Qatma, located in the Shara district. Two individuals were subsequently arrested on charges of collaborating with the Syrian regime. Notably, both had recently arrived from Aleppo, aiming to enter Turkish territory through clandestine smuggling routes.
Moreover, the military police detained Farhad Mohammed (45 years old), a resident of Deir Swan village in the Shara district, accusing him of involvement in smuggling. He was subsequently transferred to the prison facility in Azaz.
In a separate incident, the Turkish-backed “Al-Hamzat” militia abducted Salah Zeno (47 years old), a resident of Dargireh village in the Mobata district, who owns a grocery store. He faces charges of espionage for Kurdish forces.
“afrinpost” meticulously documented 41 cases of arrest and abduction in November 2023, including three women. Notably, nine cases affected citizens who had recently returned to Afrin. Seventeen incidents occurred at the checkpoints manned by the Nubl and Zahra militias, with an additional four cases taking place on Turkish soil.
