“Ahmad Othman Al-Shamisni,” an IDP from Bab Amr neighborhood in Homs, lost his life on 12.December succumbing to injuries sustained in the explosion on November 18. The blast originated from an explosive device concealed within a cargo vehicle at the checkpoint of the Military Police militia at the entrance to the occupied city of Afrin (Al-Qawas checkpoint) on the Afrin-Azaz road.
Formerly affiliated with the “National Army” militias under Turkish occupation, Al-Shamisni’s death adds to the toll of the explosion that claimed the life of a Military Police militia member and left several others injured, including civilians like “Mohammed Ghassan, Hussein Malla Dakhil, Mohammed Abbas, Hawar Mustafa, Hussein Al-Ahmad, Ali Hayani, and Bassel Al-Tarab.” Additionally, two individuals from the Mawali tribe sustained injuries. The explosion caused significant damage to the checkpoint.
