Militia Seizes Olive Harvest of Displaced Person in Afrin

afrinpost-Exclusive

In a recent development reported by our correspondent in Afrin, armed individuals associated with the “Ninth Division” militia, identified as “Abu Ibrahim” and “Mohammed Safouk,” have reportedly confiscated the entire olive harvest of Aref Ibrahim, a citizen forcibly displaced from the town of Rajo, Afrin.

Under the auspices of their militia, these armed individuals looted 65 olive trees from Aref’s field, situated between the road of Sheikh Bila village and the entrance of Rajo town. It is noteworthy that Aref’s cousin holds an official power of attorney, as duly issued by the Afrin court.

Despite the ongoing challenges, the theft of olive crops persists in the occupied region of Afrin. Local residents continue to grapple with safeguarding their crops and fields against recurrent encroachments by armed individuals and their affiliated IDPs.

On November 9, our sources had previously reported the presence of IDPs residing in camps within the Afrin countryside. These IDPs were observed parking their vehicles in olive fields owned by residents of various villages of Afrin. They engaged in olive harvesting under the protection of armed individuals associated with their groups.
