Ahrar Al-Sharqiya Assaults Kurdish Man for Opposing Electricity Theft in Afrin

On September 9th, armed individuals affiliated with the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya militia raided the house of a Kurdish citizen from the village of Barka in the Mobata subdistrict. This incident occurred due to the citizen’s objection to his armed neighbor’s theft of electricity from his house in the occupied city of Afrin.

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Unity Party reported on its official Facebook page that four armed individuals from the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya militia, one of them being the neighbor of Ahmed Mustafa Suleiman (27 years old), forcibly entered Ahmed’s house in al-Mahmudiya neighborhood in Afrin city. They broke down the outer door and brandished their weapons with the intention of attacking him because he had cut the stolen electricity cable that his armed neighbor had taken from his house.

Due to their brutal attack, Ahmed, his wife, and his mother fled to the balcony and jumped into the street out of fear of being killed. They were rushed to the Syrian Specialized Hospital, where it was revealed that both women suffered fractures in their legs and ribs, as well as bruises and contusions on their bodies.

It’s worth noting that Ahmed Suleiman was forcibly deported from Turkey about three months ago and has been married for one month.
