afrinpost– Exclusive

Today, July 8th, a patrol affiliated with the Military Police militia arrested an IDP named “Mohammed Madlaj” on charges of defaming a leader in the Al-Majd Brigade militia. The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by the said leader in the occupied city of Afrin.

According to our correspondent, the accused leader, known as “Abu Somar,” filed a complaint against the IDP for posting on his personal Facebook page, criticizing the leader’s seizure of properties belonging to the people of Afrin by force of arms and leasing them for personal gain.

Our correspondent pointed out that the leader, Abu Somar, recently returned from a mercenary trip in Libya to the occupied city of Afrin, where he began threatening the owners of the houses, their representatives, and the residents of the houses he seizes with imprisonment and assault. This came after some residents of Afrin filed official complaints against him in order to reclaim their homes. However, the leader threatened them with assault and arrest on charges of dealing with the Autonomous Administration.

Our correspondent explained that the accused, Abu Somar, seizes several houses belonging to civilians by force of arms and leases them to IDPs through contracts issued by the local council of Afrin, which was formed by the Turkish authorities, for a duration ranging from two to three years.
