According to reliable sources, it was the Turkish organization “AFAD” that caused the arrest of citizens Adham Murad Salman and Abdul Qader Othman Rashid, fearing exposure of their theft of relief aid designated for locals in cooperation with the Turkish-backed “Hamza/Hamzat” militia.
The sources explained that an AFAD official in Rajo sub-district, named “Abu Bakr,” requested that the “Hamzat” militia arrest the Kurdish citizens because they filmed the distribution of aid in the village square, fearing that the shortage of relief materials, some of which go to the “Hamzat” militia, would be revealed.
They added that the representative of the “Hamzat” militia in the village of Haj Khalil in Rajo sub-district, known as “Abu Saeed,” surrounded the house of Abdul Qader and Adham and confiscated their camera and phone after tampering with the contents of the two homes, knowing that Adham is a member of the Kurdish Independent League and Abdul Qader is a member of the local council in Rajo.
The two persons were arrested on Saturday, May 6, from their home in Haj Khalil village, on the pretext of filming video clips and sending them to the media.
