In an ongoing trend, the Turkish-backed SNA armed members and their affiliated IDPs persist in the arbitrary cutting of olive trees in order to profit from their wood in the occupied region of Afrin.
According to our reporter, armed individuals recently cut down 70 olive trees near the intersection of Qurne village in the Bulbul sub-district. These trees were owned by forcibly displaced citizen “Mohammed Habib Issa” from the village.
On May 19th, afrinpost reported that members of the “Faylaq al-Sham” militia cut down 40 olive trees belonging to citizen “Hassan Hamo” from the village of Barad in the Shera sub-district of occupied Afrin. They claimed that these trees were located near the front line with areas under Syrian regime control, even though the landowner, Hassan, resides in the village of Basuta.
